Happy 4th of July!!
It's been a while since I picked up my paints,(not including my journal page posted last week) so I finally started this one last night, in honor of Independence Day, and refused to go to bed till it was done. I had planned to do this one as well as one for Canada Day on July 1st, which I never got done - Sorry to my Canadian friends :-(
Just call it good old fashion procrastination, or fear, you choose, lol!
Anyway, my sister likes her except for the pink background, so what do you all think? Should I add touches of cream paint to make the pink not so obvious? or leave it?
Today is the first time I can see the blue sky, we've had such a crappy last week, with thick grey clouds and rain, so I'm off to the market to enjoy the sunshine.
Have a safe and happy weekend everyone!!

I'm on a new kick of pink and red together, so I love the pink! She's a beauty.
I like the pink too - it is happy and hopeful! Great painting!
Glad to hear you picked up the paints again. I miss seeing your paintings of late.
Well, I guess I'll be the oddball of the current comments and side with your sister. I really like the painting but I think the pink competes too much with the girl as is.
She is awesome, love the colours and her dress. Such a pretty face!
She's beautiful!! I think I'd like her either way (pink background as is or lightened)
I'm not much help am I? :) Seriously though, she's just so cute!

Since some people will love the pink and others won't I say you just go with what you like. Lots of people like the play between pink and red so I say stick with the vision you had of her. I'm impressed you finished her in a day!
Betty,
I love her, and I love the pink background, I think it really makes her look pretty.

She is really beautiful.
Hi there - I have an award for you on my blog.
"Procrastinators unite... tomorrow." hehe~ I can totally relate! Your artwork is adorable! Sweet blog!
Hugs,
Christina :)
Hey Betty, how are you doll. And notice that being Canadian means it is no big deal that you didn't do the Canadian girl, all us Canadians are 'Whatever.'
What a great job. I agree with your sister this time. Where the picture below with the pink I LOVE, this I love too, but maybe less of the pink. (Like I know anything.)
Love Renee xoxo
I like the pink...but I am a fan of pink! LOL....! Beautiful painting by the way!!
Hugs
