A Mother's Love

My latest painting for Mother's Day. I didn't realize how quickly it was coming up so I had to do at least one with a mother and daughter.   I used various papers to add texture to the background,  and then went and covered them! For some reason, I can't do a painting without layers, even if I am the only one who knows what's hidden underneath...it's listed in my Etsy shop.

The bunny girl from yesterday's post  is already sold! Does anyone else miss their paintings when they sell?
I have a few that I can't part with, which is silly because they are tucked away in an archival box for safekeeping.  How crazy is that?? I think they need to be appreciated, and hanging on a wall somewhere. One day I may decide to finally let them go. Maybe  I will photograph a couple and show them here.

Next on my to do list is a painting of a mother with a boy and girl. I've never painted a whimsical boy, so I'm a bit nervous about it. We shall see how it turns out.
thanks for reading!
xoxo

ah, you are inspiring me to think of Mother's Day, thank you! Your art is charming! I have drawn a couple of boys and most people think they are girls.....that is ok.
Thank you for your suggestions, they are welcome and well received!

I love this painting. And I was just going to ask if you could do one with just one boy? I had one son...he is an only!
I will be checking back

I’m glad you brought that subject up…. I wanted to ask you about that for a long time.
When I create, I want to keep everything! How do I get over that? I want to start an Etsy Shop, but everything I paint stays hanging on my walls so far. My art is so personal for me right now.

Pink, I love this one - it is so very sweet. I know what you mean about parting with your paintings. I have no problem parting with my ACEO's but I have yet to list one of my larger (and I think my best) paintings (lol).

Hi Pink - this mother and daughter is just precious! Love their hug and sweet loving expressions. Parting with your work is like parting with your children they are your creations! Totally understand why it's hard - can you get high quality prints made so you can keep the originals?

I just love this - Your art is indeed so whimsical!
I do too have pieces that it is so hard for me to give away. I don't sell any of my art, but sometimes after giving a piece away, I am so sad to see it go.

Can't wait to see the Mother and the son coming up.

Smiles!
