Sunny Days are here!!

Today was meant to be a work on art day, but the sun streaming in my windows beckoned me.
I was sitting on my computer since I woke up, trying to catch up on various classes and art groups that I am a part of, and could feel my stress level rising. It was becoming too much, trying to participate in groups, update photos, and so on....
Oh, and as if I didn't have enough to work on, I went and joined another online class last night! Yeah, so who is to blame for my stress? :-)

So I took a little break, and sat in the sun, with my folder of art ideas. The goal was to organize myself, so that I would know what to work on today. There is nothing like a little sunshine to melt the stress away :-D

I've been working on a new painting which I started two weeks ago. I haven't touched it since then, because I am afraid of making a wrong move and ruining it. I know this is not what art is supposed to be about, and that we should enjoy the process and not worry about the end result, but I can't seem to move forward. The last time I was stumped like this was 2 years ago with my Frida's Day of the Dead painting. It took me 2 years to get back to it, change it's direction, and it ended up being my most popular print.

I have no desire to put this one aside for two years, so I will just jump in after I finish my blog post. The painting you see with this post is a sneak peek of the background. Now let's see what I can do with it :-)

*******I thought I'd ask this question here, even though it has nothing to do with art...my father is 70 and he has what appears to be rosacea, even though I have read the info, and it generally happens to light skinned women under 50. If anyone out there could suggest any natural remedies it would be greatly appreciated. He has had laser a couple of years ago, but it came back worse, and the creme the dermatologist gave him burns, and it too made it worse. I gave him coconut oil to try since it is anti inflamatory. Symptoms are, red blotches on skin, especially on his cheeks and nose, and acne. I feel bad for him, he is leaving for a 2 month vacation, and his skin looks awful. Thanks everyone!

It's looking great so far. I can't wait to see what else you do with it.

I can totally understand the not wanting to do more cause your afraid of ruining it. I am like that too, and have to just push through my fears and do it. Usually I am happy with how it turns out in the end.

About the rosacea, mine was very mild but Dove's Pro Age line of cleansers and lotions helped me. It may be worth looking into.

Look into this link too paying close attention to Number 1 and to the info about apple cider vinegar...

I wanted to leave a comment on your art but saw the comment about your Dad. This isn't a natural remedy and perhaps he's tried it...but taking tetracycline and staying away from beer, aged cheeses, and chocolate are the only things that helped clear up my DH's skin. At 60 he still slips up and I can tell why my chocolate stash is low :)
Now...what I wanted to comment on is this. The internet is an incredible place to meet friends but I found it had become an intrusion in my life and was keeping me from getting any work done in the studio. So I'm taking a sabbatical from it until fall. I allow myself to go on line from 4-9 pm on Sundays but I've left my groups and and creating art for me with no pressure.
I have to update my blog after dinner this evening but I at least have something substantial to blog about. This past week has been the most creative week I've put in since...I don't know when!!

Betty, I know what you mean, I feel overwhelmed all the time, there are so many places online, groups, blogs, teams, etc and not enough time for everything!

The background looks beautiful so far! :)

I can so relate to the internet zapping all your time. YOu get online to check your email and then it's like you are sucked in blog hopping, going to forums, etc.

I really like your background. Hate starting with backgrounds for this very reason. I have several just sitting in the corner of my room for fear of messing it up. I can't wait to see what becomes of yours.

Great background! Can't wait to see what you create with it! I'm glad you have the motivation & inspiration to paint and finish your current piece. I often find myself with multiple canvases with just backgrounds or a just a face all the time.

Thanks for coming to visit! I really appreciate your sweet comments!

Hugs,
Lisa :)

Betty the sun has descided to skip over Manitoba so far this year.

I'm not giving up on it though.

I your Dad's skin doesn't bother him and it is just appearance, I know that there is a makeup (any face make up will do) where he can just put a bit on the skin and it will decrease the colour of the redness.

I think they said if you use a green base it takes away from the red.

Men and women can wear it.
