Goodbye Renee

Today I saw a blog post I was hoping not to see, but it was inevitable. Many of you know Renee from her blog and have been following her.   She has been fighting breast cancer for a while now, and has finally succumbed to her illness.
I remember finding Renee through her comment on another blog, and discovering what an extraordinary woman she was. She was always so supportive of everyone, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a strong and brave woman. I know I will miss her so much. She was a special lady who touched everyone she met, a true angel on earth,  and I am grateful to have known her.
Rest in peace dear friend.

Do not stand at my grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

I knew it was coming, too, but kept holding out hope for a miracle. She impacted my life in such a great and positive way. As I have shared with others tonight...she was such a blessing and big encouragement to me when I have been seriously down and sick with my liver/tumor, and all the tests, etc that I had to go through. (And STILL have to go through.) I've been crying alot tonight. I miss her!!

That is one of my favorite poems and I know our Renee would love that you posted it. She changed so many lives in the short time we knew her with her giving, loving and selfless warrior spirit. I know she is pain free and happy now. She will always be a part of each of us. Blessings...
