New ACEO series

hi everyone. I started a new series of ACEOs (for those who don't know what they are, they are miniature artworks, the size of a baseball card).
I love painting whimsical girls, and I love adding text, so why not do it with my ACEOs?  I have two finished so far, and will see how many I end up doing. I was hoping to do a large painting this weekend, but time got away from me again, lol!
Is anyone watching American Idol this season? What an impressive group of talent they've got! Thank goodness it's not on for several hours a week,  because all I seemed to do lately is watch tv!

A couple of days ago I went to an art show in Toronto, it had quite a few artists, maybe 200? It was great to see the types of art out there, and I tell you, people are so talented! Some of the artwork really inspired me.
I wanted to come home, and paint a big abstract...except I haven't a clue how to do so, lol! it's not a matter of just throwing things on a canvas, it takes a great amount of skill to make an abstract really work. Abstract art used to be something that I just didn't understand, but I found as the years went by that I can appreciate it for what it is. I guess that's it for now, thanks for reading!

Hey, was it The Artist Project in Toronto? I ask, because a good friend of mine is in that show. I like the new ACEO!

I so agree, abstract is not as easy as one might think.

Hey girl, I'm back from sunny Florida and I'm NOT loving this nasty weather. What show did you go to in Toronto?

Beautiful girls as always, Betty! Love the addition of words to these.

It was Noella Noel in Toronto! It would be funny (she would love that too) if you picked up one of her cards. She's an abstract artist and her work is fantastic.

Love these Betty!! Your girls are always fab!

I too love abstract and you are right! I have done a few abstract pieces and they were harder for me than painting faces! I think it is the freedom I have a hard time with. lol

PS . . . I am watching American idol and think it is really good so far! Great talent this year and I haven't watched in a couple of years but with the new judges I thought I would give it a try! And they are great too! :)

Hey Betty ;o) I love the new aceo's! Wink ;o) Sorry, I don't watch American Idol. If I watched everything, I would be sitting infront of the tv, like you said! Isn't it amazing how you get attracted to different things, or want to try different things, as years go by. You should try an abstract painting! Let your mind go! I bet it would be great!

Your new ACEOs are too adorable. :) I love how your incorporated words and phrases in them. Abstract art is really more detailed than originally meets the eye - it really does make you appreciate it all the more. Theresa

Hi Pink.
Your ACEOs are sweet!
I posted a photo of the painting I won on my Blog today and invited anyone who hasn't visited you, to do so. (:
Happy ACEO painting! Aren't they fun? You can paint so much more in such a little bit of time.
