Flying angels, and movies...

Sometimes you go through phases where you just don't feel like doing anything creative. That would be me the last couple of weeks, it doesn't mean I 'm not painting, just that what I do paint isn't turning out how I 'd like. The above angel took me days to complete! I just didn't know what to do with her, so I would do a bit here and there, and would leave it for the next day. She is done now, and I have another 2 paintings on the go, and neither of them are working as imagined. Oh well, guess you got to go with the flow.

This previous week has been a lazy one for me. I watched more TV than the last few months put together! It started with the series 'The Tudors' which I kept reading good things about. I watched the entire series in 2 days! Of course I never miss American Idol, and I watched Grease, Ghost, Music within, and some other forgettable romantic movie....

Last weekend me, my friend, and my sister watched Twilight, which I had been looking forward to for a while now. (I love vampire movies!). I enjoyed it! But I can see another crop of young girls now pining away for moody, sullen boys who are dangerous, and who pretend not to like them. This is how it begins...it happens to a lot of us, we are young, and impressionable, and we get our ideas of how a relationship looks like through movies, and not all of them are good! For most of my life I thought I would find my 'prince charming', you know, the perfect man who understands you. Never happened, I only wish I hadn't wasted all my youth pining over men who never noticed me, lol! Anyway I digress....

After I finish this blog post I will make another cup of coffee and continue working on the 2 new girls I started yesterday. They are not flowing like my usual paintings, I have to think about every step. I won't show a sneak peak right now, however, I will tell you that they are part of a new series titled 'Legends'.
You will see the first one soon, unless I get so fed up I
destroy it :-)

Morning, sometimes i think our muse goes walk about, that or there are just too many distractions. Have you tried meditation to try and re focus. I have been listening to a self hypnosis tape for well over a year or so now due to PND and OCD.With having a very active three year old i need that little bit of me time. I am weening myself off it now, only listening to it three days out of five or thereabouts.

Can so relate to the vampire thing, got hooked on Buffy and Oh David as Angel, grown out of it now though lol, hubby watches bones but except for the cute grins i don't go ga ga. And so don't beleive in fairy tales, my prince came and swept me off my feet a second time but not before he'd been married twice with four children with three different mums lol! Anyway don't get me started.

I love your Angel but know that when your not in the zone you can't see it for what it is. Good luck with the other two, look forward to seeing them :-)

Oh, how I know that feeling! Sometimes instead of just doing, I'm thinking too hard on what to do next. I think we need a break sometimes, just like with anything. Your angel is wonderful though and I love her cheeks! I want one of those bags of magic :]

I think she is charming! We all feel that way sometimes. I tend to start new projects to get the flow back. The other thing I do sometimes is get an inspiration picture and sit down with what ever you want to paint on, set your timmer for 30 or 40 min. With paint in hand, just start painting, and no pencil allowed, just you and the paint. It is amazing what happens when you are free to just be, and the time limit is just a way of keeping it short and no pressure because you expect it to look bad with just a short length of time.:)
