Quick update

First off, I want to say thanks to all who commented on my previous post. It's nice to know you are not alone in feeling scattered when it comes to art. I love comments and appreciate you sharing your stories. Keep 'em coming :-)

Yesterday we had our first snow...but not the pretty fluffy kind. We had some crazy driving winds that almost knocked me over, and little ice pellets that were hitting your face,  making it difficult to walk. It did however, start me thinking about decorating, which is what I will be doing this weekend. I want it done as soon as possible, rather than a bit each night, which is what I normally do.  It should be interesting to see how long I last, lol, as it is a very exhausting process. I will post some photos.

The painting you see here was done early this year, after the holidays. It was too late for me to list it so I stored it away until now.
I am working on some ideas for Christmas cards. I'd like to offer packages of cards, but it is not practical to do them myself. Does anyone have any advice? Do you print your own cards, or is there somewhere to send them?
There will also be pendants coming soon. I've wanted to make my own for a while, but haven't found the time yet.

Lastly, if you are looking to get some of your shopping done early, consider the ACEO bounty holiday sale, going on until Nov 22nd. There are 11 shops participating so far, and super deals. I even did a bit of shopping there myself tonight.  The link above takes you to the blog where you can see links to each Etsy shop.

Ohhh....are not the first snows the most beautiful ones of the whole year?! :)

Love the new art! Happy weekend!

Beautiful new art! I can't wait to decorate too! Yay Tis the Season! lol

Can't wait to see your new greeting cards and pendants, bet they will be awesome!

I have only used Wal-Mart and Future shops photo service for cards so far. Sears had a print service for a few months and the quality I loved but they ended the company.

Maybe start a thread on Etsy and ask what others recommend!

I've been interested in the same - where to get prints done - so both the quality and price are good. I did look on forums - but mainly for giclee - there is quite a bit of good advice there. Looking forward to what you find out too!
Oh, and adorable little winter girl :)

Thanks for the post comment. I just started on twitter and I really do not understand the whole concept. I am getting the views, but not the sales so I am not sure if it is even working. I do love facebook though, but manly bc most of my friends are on it. Everything can get confusing though.

Hope you can find a good place to print some cards for you. It is hard to find hands on companies to do this. Wish I could find someone here also!
Love your painting, such a sweet heart. Bless you so much for battling against the snow and wind.
Hope you have a nice cosy weekend!

Ten years ago I once had 1000 small cards printed by a local print shop, with envelopes it cost me about 40 cents a card, so hard to make a profit on that when they cost me $4 per 10 and I sold them at $5 for 10.

Then I got a nice Canon ink jet printer and with my digital camera began to capture my art and make my own cards. I just insert my jpg file into a PowerPoint slide and add any text I want, and two cards can be made out of one sheet of heavy card stock.

It’s hard for me to figure out the price per card since I only print 100 at a time, but I think it’s more like 25 cents per cards, the most expense is the ink I go through.

It takes some patience setting up the picture just so in order to print out centered, so I have to make one cut with the paper cutter to get my two cards.

They do make nice gifts and friend and family have been interested in buying them.

I’m like you, too many ideas and not enough time to invest in my art while I’m still working full time. I need to learn a lot more about the business side of thinks and resources out there.

I'm just glad to have discovered this bloging thing and connecting with other artist this way!

Love your new girl - My first thought was little red riding hood, don't know why but she is adorable. Can't help you with the cards, sorry.

Your painting is fabulous!! She would make a great card. Wish I could help you on the card making venture. Just don't know. Zazzle makes a good product and you can use your own artwork. But they are a little pricey. Sorry I can't be of more help

Adorable Holiday painting! You are so lucky to get snow where you live. I have a ways to travel to see any during the winter. Wishing you safety from the winds. Have a great week!

Hugs,

I print my own cards on my inkjet printer. I would like to find a printer too but don't really have the money to invest in having cards made yet. Please let us know who you decide to go with. Your snowy girl is super sweet!

I got my card, oh my God, she is fantastic. Ms. Kitty keeps telling me that she can hang out with her(as she believes a sucker is born every minute).

Love Renee xoxo
